Mail rules
Mail rules tell FirstClass how to handle the contents of your Mailbox. Mail rules aren't something most people implement until they have a specific reason to use them.
Here are a few situations where mail rules will help you keep your Mailbox organized.
File mail in a specified folder
If you correspond with someone frequently, you can file all the messages in a folder. You can create a mail rule that runs when mail is sent or delivered. You can even create a mail rule that runs manually.
Unsolicited emails
Unsolicited emails are commonly referred to as spam. Despite our best efforts, you may receive unsolicited email. Rules can be used to automatically delete or file these messages.
If messages contain inappropriate content, please inform your FirstClass administrator. Other people within FirstClass may be receiving the same message, and it is more efficient for the administrator to make a global rule.
Mail lists
Perhaps you've subscribed to a mailing list, but you don't the messages cluttering your Mailbox. A mail rule could be created to move the messages to an existing folder within your Mailbox. Periodically you would open the folder and read the messages.
